What do the round colored dots mean on the side of food pkgs??
I am on a health food kick and yesterday at the grocery store...No Frills i saw on the side of the garlic spread tub these different colored dots, brown, black, yellow, orange, green, red etc....can anyone please tell me what they ALL signify or where i can find out? I tried the net but couldn't get any answers at all and there was no number on the little tub....Thankyou in advance for any info on this.!!

A: You may have seen these color dots on the bottom of bags of potato chips or other packages of food. We called Frito-Lay to find out the dots' purpose. Frito-Lay says that the dots are part of quality control in the packaging of the product. The markings help to keep the colors, graphics and fonts uniform during the printing of the package.
