What is this craft called? I saw on DIY network where a girl was making a carnival piece out of colored glass.?
It was like metallic glass. She used a glass cutter that looked like a pizza cutter and then bent the glass at the crack to seperate it. She glued it like stained glass, but stained glass is see through to where the sun shines in. This glass is metallic and bright. Hot pink with a real shine to it. not a clear watercolored type glass. I really want to start making stuff and selling it on etsy for extra $$. Please let me know if you could tell me what this is called. Its kinda like mosaic technique with bright metallic glass.
I'm not sure what you mean by carnival piece, but I am sure you are talking about the Mosaic technique as you said. Mosaic is the art of creating images with an assemblage of small pieces of colored glass, stone, or other materials. It may be a technique of decorative art, an aspect of interior decoration, or of cultural and spiritual significance as in a cathedral. Small pieces, normally roughly cubic, of stone or glass of different colors, known as tesserae, (diminutive tessellae), are used to create a pattern or picture.
