How do i stain a door with the grain to look two toned?
I'm trying to stain the exterior of my front door. I'm trying to make it look like a modern/mid-century mod wood. The best way I can describe it I want to make it look like a sheesham wood or pecan wood Or maybe if you have seen Ikea's Dark Tundra laminate flooring. some kind of wood species with dark and light tone wood grain. Any Help is very appricated. Thank you,
take a blow torch and lightly pass it over the wood (as if you are makeing that dessert with the sugar on top and the blow torch). Some of the grain will change color (caramel to darker) and then you can stain the door. If not you can take an iron you are willing to throw away and heat it up as hot as it goes and iron the door.
