What's so special about Murano glass chandelier?
I need to know some special thing or feeling it brings as a decoration for a room/place. I can't find much information online other than the fact that it is is a famous product of the Venetian island of Murano for centuries.
Pls ans in plain English..
Hello Esther
Murano glass chandeliers are indeed famous products of Venice, coming from the island of Murano, but there is a reason for it!
Centuries ago, these artisans were the first to refine the glassblowing technique and master it. Glassware and mirror from Venice were undoubtedly the best in all Europe and when you buy a chandelier from Murano you buy a piece of history, and example of supreme art and craft skills.
As you can see here http://www.murano-glass-chandeliers.com now in Murano are produced both modern and classic models, made by many kinds of glass. Because you also have to keep in mind that this glass is not painted, as most of the stained glass you're used to. In the Murano glass some powders are melted within the glass and thus it gains the color.
There will be much more to say, feel free to contact me privately if you need!
Have a nice day!
