How do you drill holes in glass bottles?
There are some arts & crafts projects I want to make but I'm not really sure how to drill a hole in a glass bottle (like a beer bottle or wine bottle)
You'll need a drill or Dremel tool and a special drill bit or attachment for drilling glass. It should be a diamond tipped one, you can find bits for both at home stores and Dremel attachments are sometimes sold at hobby shops. Wear goggles since there will obviously be a lot of glass flying about. You should go very slowly and practice first on a few disposable items. Make sure you keep a spray bottle of water handy and keep the area wet as the glass will heat up very quickly. The glass "dust" will make a paste with the water so make sure you keep watering, you'll want to have a loose flowing liquid there rather than a thicker one. Make sure you use very light pressure and take your time. It takes a while but it's worth the effort since the object you're drilling will remain more of it's "structural integrity" so to speak.
